Location: Main base will be Rainford, Merseyside, will one out of four weeks spent at the Northern Ireland depot in Crumlin

Role:

We are now looking for an experienced Depot Manager with strong people-leadership skills to run a dual-site operation and drive results in a busy field-sales environment.

We have 12 Depots around the UK & Northern Ireland run by our fantastic Depot Managers and a new 'dual-site' opportunity has become available to work between our North West and Northern Ireland sites. Your main base will be at our North West Depot in Rainford, where you will spend 3 out of 4 weeks; the remaining week will be spent working with the team at our Northern Ireland Depot in Crumlin.

This is a full time position, Monday to Friday (no weekend working here)!

Our Depot Managers split their time equally between being out on the road with the reps, and managing the depot which includes all compliance and KPI reporting. Still interested ... then read on!!

Your typical working day will include:

• Provide leadership and support to the Depot Supervisors, ensuring they are meeting operational and performance targets
• Drive sales efforts at the depot level, implementing growth initiatives as agreed with the Regional Manager
• Be visible and have a strong presence working alongside Sales Representatives, engaging with customers and actively pursuing new leads to drive depot growth
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, showcasing the Apex service and managing small key accounts
• Monitor and manage KPIs for the depot, ensuring your Depot Supervisors are responsible for meeting targets
• Ensure full compliance with SOP’s, utilising reports and data available
• Communicate key business and site information to your Depot Supervisor and ensure regular updates are provided
• Monitor and drive compliance with all statutory and legal requirements for Health and Safety, Fire, Hygiene, Licensing, and Employment
• Ensure overhead costs are managed in line with budgets
• Oversee the recruitment processes for roles at the depot
• Ensure the sales teams receive sufficient training to deliver growth, while continuously developing their abilities
• Collaborate with the HR team on discipline and performance matters
• Conduct colleague check in’s with their teams to ensure we are monitoring performance, assessing progress and setting clear objectives

Ideal Candidate:

• The desire to spend a solid amount of your time out on the road with your reps developing and coaching them as well as interacting with the customer base
• Demonstratable experience in people management
• Experience in driving sales and operational performance/implementing sales strategies
• An outgoing, trustworthy and friendly personality (along with strong communication and leadership skills)
• The ability to build relationships and provide top class customer service
• Budgeting experience
• The ability to use reports & data to ensure full compliance with procedures
• An understanding of statutory legislation (e.g. H&S, Employment)
• As much of the experience listed above which you will have ideally gained from an operational/warehouse environment
