BOBBY’S is one of the biggest growing brands in confectionery and offers a range of snack, cake and drink products with a retail sales value of £58M.

A vacancy has arisen for a Management Accountant to oversee the management information for the Bobby’s Foods Group. From timely completion of management accounts at month end including commentary on results to continuous financial support to other departments within Bobbys; this is a great opportunity with plenty of scope to develop and evolve the role and add value.

Although there is a need for a physical presence in the office in order to effectively support internal stakeholders, the option to work remotely for some of the week is available. We would also consider applications from anyone wishing to work only 4 days a week.

Your typical working day will include:

• To produce and prepare the monthly financial statements, including the profit and loss accounts, variance analysis and commentaries for Bobby’s Foods
• Perform key balance sheet reconciliation tasks and journal postings including fixed assets, depreciation, accruals and prepayments
• Calculation of supplier vendor overriders and invoicing of these
• Support in the process of imported goods, specifically in relation to the calculation of landed costs
• Submission of quarterly VAT return
• Provide financial support to other areas of the business, with key stakeholders being:
o Managing Director of Bobby’s Foods
o Stock Control manager
o Head of commercial development
o IT function
o Depot administrators
o Central finance team in Loughborough
• Assist with the preparation of year end accounts, liaising with auditors as required
• Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts, including reconciliation
• Work with our internal resource management system to improve processes
• Other ad hoc duties as prescribed by the Financial Controller to assist in achieving business objectives

Ideal Candidate:

• Relevant financial experience working in management accounts
• Proficient in Microsoft office, especially excel
• Competent with various information systems – we are looking for someone who will be able to adapt to using different systems
• Able to communicate across different mediums (both remotely and in person) with both financial and non-financial stakeholders at all levels
• Proactive working approach – someone who is happy to work independently
